Notes:

Ground zero for exotica.  "Ritual" is  looked at as THE place where the exotica genre started and this album contains the original "Quiet Village."  Martin Denny may be credited for making Quiet Village a hit song, but it was Baxter that penned the tune. This CD release contains two Baxter albums.  Both sound like they are directly from the master tapes.  The sound quality is sparkling.  While Passions is a bit more primal with its howling vocals, its still pretty ground breaking considering when it was originally released.  "Ritual of the Savage" should be the cornerstone of every well rounded Exotica collection.

Sample Track: 1-01 Quiet Village

Aloha Mark! Nice set-up here with the Beachcomber’s Corner! This is one I’m working on getting an LP copy of to make a clock. It’s such a classic Les Baxter
cover…love it! I appreciate you posting all these covers…gives me a ‘fill in the blanks’ idea for what I need in my listening collection and clock making collection, too.

Mahalo for your great efforts here and on the ‘Quiet Village’….you’re making this California boy’s life a bit brighter while I’m land-locked here in Nashville, TN!
    Keep it Tiki!—Best, Darren.
